Placement/Duration:
Spring Analysts join for a 6-month internship commencing in January. Spring Analysts will be placed into a specific development or infrastructure team, providing them with a real-world, project-based experience that offers insights into the life of a technologist at a world-class financial firm.
Training Program:
The internship program begins with an induction day that offers an in-depth overview of Morgan Stanley, our organizational structure, and strategic focus. It also provides guidance on transitioning from a campus environment to a corporate setting. Following placement into teams, Spring Analysts will work on live projects that hold real relevance to Morgan Stanley. Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to attend guest lectures with senior management and engage in networking, team-building, social, and charitable events.
Responsibilities:
Development Teams:
- Collaborate in designing, developing, and maintaining applications used by the firm’s business units.
- Conduct meetings with clients to gather and analyze requirements.
- Make critical system design decisions.
- Evaluate, integrate, and develop necessary software.
- Perform testing and deploy applications to production.
- Work on projects such as developing high-performing low-latency electronic trading systems, providing risk management analytics and systems, and evolving complex workflows and life-cycle management capabilities across various asset classes and products.
Infrastructure Teams:
- Contribute to the development of cutting-edge systems essential for the firm’s operations.
- Provide tools, applications, and platforms, including networks, computing hardware, operating systems, and databases.
- Focus on supporting trading applications, mobile applications, and other end-user applications.
- Collaborate in projects such as engineering the firm’s websites, managing the Windows plant, and developing client reporting delivery systems.
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program with expected graduation in 2024.
- Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical fields.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, or C#) and knowledge of databases.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows and Unix).
- Strong problem-solving skills, experience in object-oriented development, a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity theory, and proficient database and scripting skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English.
